A Non-Convex Economic Dispatch Problem with Point-Valve Effect Using a Wind-Driven Optimisation Approach

This study presents the efficiency of wind-driven optimisation (WDO) approach in solving non-convex economic dispatch problems with point-valve effect. The best for a power system is one wherein can generate energy at low cost. calculation generating cost subject to number constraints, such as demand entire and generation limit each generator unit system. In addition, should also produce loss. WDO technique developed based on concept natural wind movement, which serves stabiliser equalise inequality air pressure atmosphere. One major advantage over other techniques its search accuracy. proposed algorithm has been implemented two systems, namely, 10-generator 40-generator systems. Both systems were tested Matlab environment. To highlight capabilities WDO, results using this are compared obtained flower pollination algorithm, moth flame optimisation, particle swarm evolutionary programming determine dispatch. simulation show capability determining optimal value minimum rate
